Graduate of the Institute for Theatre (year 1951, class Aura Buzescu, Alexandru Finţi). Profesor la Institutul de Teatru din Tîrgu Mureș (1976-1989), la Facultatea de Teatru a Universității Ecologice (1996-2003), apoi la Facultatea de Teatru a Universității ”Spiru Haret” (2003-prezent).
"El este interpretul ideal al personajelor cu farmec difuz şi linia de conduită la fel. El este însă şi incertitudinea nuanţată atât de perfect, încât ajunge să creeze pe momente iluzia certitudinii" (Eva Sîrbu, Magazin estival Cinema 1980).
