The National Culture Day (January, 15) was celebrated by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund by organizing the event of awarding the annual prizes for cultural projects. The Gala took place at the Elvire Popesco Cinema and at the French Institute in Bucharest. Many filmmakers were among the nominees and the award winners of the evening; many of them were financially supported by the AFCN for different projects. The Vira Association (Matei Budeș, Natalia Negru, Andrei Ciobanu, Ileana Szasz, Bogdan Palici) received the award for the Communication and cultural mediation category, for the project ”My first documentary”. The Control N Cultural Association (Iulia Rugină, Oana Răsuceanu, Ana Agopian) received the award for Activating the intangible heritage for the project ”Disco BTT”.
The special award for celebrating the Centenary, given by public vote, was offered by Irina Cios, the director of the AFCN. It went to the project “The Soldier Queen”, of the Cultural Romania Association. Another project that was nominated was ”CineBucurești. One Hundred Years of Modernity / CineBucurești. O sută de ani de modernitate”, of the Pro Cultura Association.
The One World Romania Association (Alexandru Solomon) was nominated for the Cultural Activation in the public space category, for the documentary film festival that it organizes. And the Art in Dialogue Association (Monica Sebestyn) was nominated for the Innovative solutions in promoting the patrimony for the UrbanEye Film Festival. The Docuart Association (Daniela Apostol) was nominated for the category Activating the intangible heritage for the Docuart Caravan.
Other nominees for the Cultural Management Award were Oana Radu (Making Waves New York, the fArad Festival) and the actor George Remeș (Godot Cafe-teatru and the Independent Theatre Festival).
