From 1 Septemberto 1 October 2017, at the Museum of Bucharest Municipality, Suţu Palace, the exhibition CineBucureşti.100 years of modernity–the lecture of Bucharest modernity through the presentation of the apparition and existence of theatre halls will be opened for viewing
The exhibition is part of the cultural project
CineBucureşti.100 years of modernity, initiated by the Pro Cultura Association and co-funded by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund.
The exhibition captures the history of Bucharest movie theatres through photos, architectural designs and texts. These materials are the result of historical, sociological and architectural research and documenting, representing an argumentative step for the support of the theatre halls' conservation in consideration of their architectural and urban qualities.
On this occasion, the conference
The movie theatre in town will be set up on 27 September 2017, at 18:30, at Suțu Palace. The conference will come as a completionto the visual exposureaccompanied by lectures delivered by experts from the fields of architecture and film, focusing on the insufficiently explored architecture of movie theatres, and involving at the same time the understanding of the cinema as a cultural-artistic instrument.
The cultural project's events will be carried on in October, with screenings and debates, under the generic title
To the movies in town, at UNION, EFORIE and EUROPA theatre halls.
