Many Romanian filmmakers were nominated at the AFCN Awards for cultural projects that promote the film, developed in 2017. Some of them won over other artistic initiatives. The Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN) is a public entity, which is subordinated to the Ministry of Culture and it is the main public financing entity of the cultural offer in Romania.
During the gala organized at the Elvire Popesco Cinema the awards were offered by Irina Cios, the director of the AFCN, Irina Petrescu, the director of the French Institute in Bucharest and by others members of the AFCN board, after having been judged by specialists. The Vira Association, the directors Copel Moscu (BIEFF) and Iulia Rugină (Disco BTT) were among the winners of the evening.
