Libra Film Productions

Founded in 1994 out of some young filmmakers` desire to produce films and events, Libra Film is a film production company that Tudor Giurgiu and Oana Giurgiu developed other projects on as well. Apart from the over 30 films that it produced, Romanian or co-productions, the Libra Film team represents the base of the Association for the Romanian Film Promotion, created in 2001, which organizes theTransilvania International Film Festival, theGopo Awards Gala, the TIFF Caravan, the White Night of the Romanian Film andEducaTIFF. The festival fromClujNapoca and the Gopo Awards Gala are some of the events that the filmmakers industry look forward to. The film distribution segment, covered by the Transilvania Film company, adds up to the production one.
Well-known for their work as film directors, Tudor Giurgiu and Oana Giurgiu are very experienced producers, with countless awards for their film productions and the team that they created always works to come up with a new idea. During our visit, the team was feverishly preparing the 2017 Gopo Awards Gala, the preparations for the TIFF 2017 were carried on and two feature films were in the pre-production stage: The Moromete Family 2, directed by StereGulea and In the Beat of a Heart / Apropierea, directed by Tudor Giurgiu.
