“Bondoc” in theatres from 23 September

Documentary Bondoc (directed by Mihai Mincan, Cristian Delcea and Mihai Voinea) will be released in Romanian theatres on 23 September.
The film will have its gala premiere next week, on 21 September at Cinema Elvira Popescu of our capital city, from 20:30, with the crew in attendance.
Bondoc will be from 23 September on the big screens of Bucharest (Romanian Farmers' Museum Cinema, Union Cinematheque, Cinema Elvira Popescu), Cluj-Napoca (Cinema Victoria), Brașov (Patria Cinematheque) and Sibiu (Habitus Bookstore).
The feature follows the story of Dan Bondoc, a 78-year old chess master, who lives alone in Bucharest. His only dream is to win the championship organised in the memory of his deceased friend, the great chess player Victor Ciocâltea. Over the following days, Bondoc is caught between chess table battles, against much younger opponents, the fear that his life does not have any meaning anymore and the feeling that his many years turn him into an ineffective player.
Dan Vladimir Bondoc passed away last month aged 82 years old.
