A conversation with Cristi Puiu is always fascinating, but also full of surprises. Because you will never know what to expect. He is always very careful with all the tones, with any possible turn of phrase, he can suddenly go from smiling to frowning, from being kind to being aggressive.
He can be a charming peacock ready to spread his colourful feathers or a hedgehog with long sharp spines. But in any of the circumstances, he is an artist permanently reflecting on the meanings of his art and beyond that, of life and of its purpose.
