He finished the Department for Movie Direction at the Theater and Cinematography Institute Bucharest ("IATC"), in 1982, at professor's Gheorghe Vitanidis class. Being employed by the "Buftea" Studios, he became an assistant for several Romanian movie directors: Sergiu Nicolaescu, Alecu Croitoru, Gheorghe Vitanidis, Dan Mironescu.
