The Last Day will close this year the
European Film
Festival, on 11 May.
“
The Last Day is a comic thriller about faith and infidelity, about forgiveness and punishment,” director and producer Gabriel Achim stated. Adrian, a man from a small town, decided to become a monk. The mayor, the police officer and the leader of the local Young Christian Association see their friend off on his way to the Monastery. The mayor, an amateur director, offers to film their trip, but he also has some secret plans for Adrian.

“It is contradictory how people are available for absorbing a lot of information about the world, but nobody is interested anymore in searching their own souls,” Gabriel Achim said. “In asking why we are doing what we are doing, what is the deep motor of our actions. What is the sense of the world, where did we come from and where we are going.”
The feature film screenplay is signed by Gabriel Achim and Cosmin Manolache, and the cinematography by George Chiper-Lillemark. Picture editor is Ștefan Ioan Tatu, and Florian Titus Ardelean and Alexis Marzin made the sound-track design and editing. The sound mixing was made by Cristinel Șirli at Creative Sound Paris. The scenography belongs to Signe Chiper-Lillemark, and the costumes to Luminiței Mihai. Producer is
