Romanian films at the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) 2020 in Amsterdam
The pinnacle of a year that was named by many critics as the year of the Romanian documentary comes from the International Documentary Film Festival of Amsterdam (IDFA), where three Romanian productions were selected in the “Best of Fests” section. The festival curating policy is to present the most appreciated films in the festival circuit. The Romanian films in this selection are: Acasă, My Home / Acasă(directed by Radu Ciorniciuc), Please Hold the Line / Așteptați răspunsul operatorului(directed by Pavel Cuzuioc, co-producție Romanian-Austrian co-procution) and Lost Kids on the Beach / Copii pierduți pe plajă (directed by Alina Manolache). Everything Will not Be Ok / Totul nu va fi bine (directed by Adrian Pîrvu, Helena Maksyom) is included in the debut section. The 33rd edition of the festival chose a hybrid form, both online and offline. The online film platform is available until December 6.
