“Clash”, the big winner of Cinepolitica 2017 competition

Reaching its 6th Edition, Cinepolitica International Film Festival designated its winners on Sunday, 23 April: Ciocnirea / Clash (directed by Mohamed Diab) is the big winner of Cinepolitica International Film Festival, while the documentary Războiul Regelui / The King Who Tricked Hitler (directed by Trevor Poots) was granted a Special Mention.
In a year fairly troubled for Europe, Cinepolitica 2017, the only political film festival in Romania, gathered in its programme 14 films, approximately 2,500 viewers and four sold-out screenings.
The jury was made of sociologist Oana-Valentina Suciu, Nicolae Mandea, Dean of “I.L. Caragiale” Theatre and Cinema University, a writer and university lecturer Ioan Cristescu.
Cinepolitica Trophy, amounting to EUR 2,500, was offered by the Romanian Cultural Institute to the film Clash, a cinematic experiment based on an overwhelming psychological pressure event, having in its centre a car transporting prisoners in the middle of the Arab Spring events.
Cinepolitica International Film Festival took place between 20 – 23 April, at Cinema Elvire Popesco and at Balassi Institute of Bucharest.
