The 100 best films of the 21st century in the view of The Guardian


     The British publication The Guardian recently published one Top 100 of the best films of the 21st century, as well as the top of the preferences of some of the directors included in Top 100.
     4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days / 4 luni, 3 săptămâni și 2 zile, Cristian Mungiu`s feature film which received the Palme d`Or in 2007 ranks 42 in the Top 100 films of the 21st century. Toni Erdmann (directed by Maren Ade),
the German-Romanian co-production that Ada Solomon worked on ranks 44.
     The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu / Moartea domnului Lăzărescu, directed by Cristi Puiu, is the favorite film chosen by the British director Mike Leigh: “Exemplary low-budget masterpiece about a sick old guy being carted from hospital to hospital in the middle of the night. Honest. Direct. Real. Moving. Comic. Tragic.”
