The Romanian Film Retrospective at the Metro KinoKulturhaus in Vienna


     From March 8 to April 4, 2019, the art cinema house Metro KinoKulturhaus in Vienna presents a retrospective of the Romanian film in Austria, which includes in a condensed form the richness and diversity of the film creation of the past 60 years. The project is organized by the Austrian Film Archives and the Film Museum in Vienna, in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna and with the support of the Romanian Film Center, the Romanian National Film Archives and the Romanian Embassy in Vienna.
     The opening of the event will be attended by the film director Alexandra Bălteanu and by the film critics Andrei Gorzo and Veronica Lazăr, who will take part in a few screenings, followed by Q&A sessions.
     The Romanian Film Retrospective in Austria presents a selection of productions made from 1957 to 1988, but also a few feature films made and awarded from 2005 to 2018. They will be preceded by short films of the directors of the New Wave. The selection was made by the Viennese Cinematheque and the schedule is:
