
The Festival will open with an exceptional screening: one of the most recent versions of
Hamlet (
Maxine Peake as Hamlet, Great Britain, 2015), a reinterpretation of William Shakespeare's classical play, a modern version of filmed theatre. The production, offered by the British Council, is part of the Shakespeare 400 special section.
During the weekend of 21-22 May, at Cinema Mărăşti in Cluj-Napoca, screenings of titles prom the European Film Festival will be held. Furthermore, with the support of the
CinED Program (developed by the French Institute, the NexT Cultural Society and the Macondo Cultural Association), on Saturday, 21 May, at 12:00, at Mărăşti Cinema, a screening for gymnasium and high school students was included of the film
Pierrot The Madman / Pierrot Le Fou (France, 1965), directed by Jean-Luc Godard, 110'.
Admission to the gala evening will be by invitation, and to all other screenings admission will be free of charge.
