The 20th Edition of the  
European Film Festival has broken several records: 85 de films from 29 countries, the biggest number of 
related events (13), the biggest number of special sections (4), the biggest number of screening halls in Bucharest, and the biggest number of local editions (in Bucharest, 
Baia Mare, 
Cluj-Napoca, Tg. Mureș, Hunedoara and Timișoara).
 

     Moreover, for the first time in the history of the Festival, not one, but two popularity awards were granted: for feature length – to 
Mica Anglie/Little England (Greece, 2013), and for short and medium length – to 
Ecouri/Echoes (Republic of Moldova, 2015).
     The Bucharest edition was wrapped up on Sunday, 15 May, and during the 10 screening days, over 5200 viewers had the opportunity to see productions in 8 theatres: Cinema PRO, Cinematheque Eforie, Cinema Elvire Popesco, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Czech Centre, the Cervantes Institute, the Italian Institute of Culture „Vito Grasso”, and the European Public Space. The Bucharest edition offered not only screenings, but also meetings with filmmakers, national premieres, photo exhibitions, youth workshops and music and image performances. Actors

 Stop Cadru of artist Silviu Gheţie was open to visitors at the ICR headquarters, 
Dincolo de calea ferată/Beyond the Railway (directed by 
Cătălin Mitulescu) had a screening with the crew attending, and 
Hotel Dallas (directed by Livia Ungur and Sherng-Lee Huang) was nationally premiered within the Festival, and 
Ileana Bîrsan hosted a film workshop for high schoolers.
     On Sunday, the first edition of FFE in Baia Mare was also wrapped up, boasting a total number of 800 viewers at the Municipal Theatre Hall.
     The Festival is still going on in Cluj-Napoca (20–22 May), Târgu Mureș (20–22 May), Hunedoara (27–29 May) and Timișoara (27–29 May).
