Graduate of the Institute of Theatre and Film “I.L.Caragiale” (year 1985, class prof. Dem Rădulescu). Member of several repertoire companies: Tineretului Theatre (Piatra Neamţ), Bulandra Theatre, Bucharest National Theatre, Bucharest Jewish Theatre.

Trivia

  • She was married to the actor Claudiu Istodor (1983-1999) and she has a son with him, the actor Tudor Aaron Istodor.
  • She was also married to the doctor Dumitru Băltăţeanu (2001-2015) and she has two daughters with him, Eva and Ana.
  • Maia Morgenstern and Tudor Istodor perform together in Domnişoara Christina. 
  • She is the managing director of the Bucharest Jewish Theatre.
