Andi Vasluianu on the acting profession:
"Being an actor, I receive a script that translates into a story I then analyze as much as possible, relying on all my cultural and affective skills. But the script also contains the luggage of the director and that of the scriptwriter. During the reading we unfold everything… After learning the text you start working, going towards the character… I rehearse over and over again, I think about the reactions, about the lines. I don’t really buy into this business of getting inside the character’s head, no actor gets inside the character’s head. If you ask me, the process one undertakes implies observation, reflection on how that person could look like, how he/she is dressed, comparison with similar individuals and then there are two possibilities: either you try to reach that point mimetically, or there’s something inside you that gives you the fuel necessary for the job. I prefer the verb to perform to the expression of getting inside the character’s head.” (
