Sarajevo Film Festival, at its 22nd Edition, is taking place between 12-20 August 2016.
Doar o răsuflare/A Mere Breath (directed by
Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan) and
Cinema, mon amour (directed by
Alexandru Belc are part of the
documentary competition of Sarajevo IFF,
Mă cheamă Costin/My Name is Costin (directed by
Radu Potcoavă) and
4:15 PM Sfârșitul lumii/4:15. The End of the World (directed by Cătălin Rotaru and Gabi Virginia Șarga) were included in the
shorts competition, and
Inimi cicatrizate/Scarred Hearts (directed by
Radu Jude) and
Câini/Dogs (directed by
Bogdan Mirică) are in the line-up of the
official full-length features competition.
Director
Alexander Nanau. is one of the documentary competition jurors.
Bacalaureat/Graduaon (directed by
Cristian Mungiu) and
Sieranevada (directed by
Cristi Puiu) will be screened within
In Focus programme.
At Sarajevo IFF, two Romanian co-productions are also to be screened:
In the Same Garden (directed by Ali Asgari,
Adrian Sitaru, Alexandre Rockwell, Rolf De Heer, Gurvinder Singh, Chema García Ibarra, Roger Deutsch, Sergey Bodrov, Andrej Landin), outside the competition, and
Albüm (directed by Mehmet Can Mertoglu, co-producers Oana Iancu and
Călin Peter Netzer), to be premiered regionally in the feature-length competition.
The cinema projects
Otto Barbarul (Otto, the Barbarian) by Ruxandra Ghițescu was selected in the programme
CineLink Co-production Market of the Festival, together with other 14 films from Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Georgia, Slovenia, Turkey, Kosovo and Greece. Ruxandra Ghiţescu and producer
Iuliana Tarnoveţchi will attend the between 17-21 August. Doina Bostan will be part of the jury of
CineLink Co-production Market, as representative of the Romanian Filmmaking Centre.
The documentary feature
Eu sunt Hercule/I Am Hercules, directed by
Marius Iacob, was selected among the five finalist projects of the section
Docu Rough Cut Boutique. Marius Iacob and Roxana Szel (editor) will go to Sarajevo between 15-19 August.
The Romanian Cultural Institute of Vienna is a partner of 2016 Sarajevo Film Festival, supporting Romanian attendance of the festival.
From Romania, the following participants to
Talents Sarajevo were selected: Vlad Udrescu, Adina Stetcu and
Maria Dinulescu (actors), Paula Maria Onet, Yuval Shapira and Sorin Poamă (directors), Gabriela-Carlea Fotea and Bogdan Palici (producers),
Simona Sava (screenwriter), Andreea Mihalcea and Andreea Alexandra Patru (film critics), Carmen Bianca Tofeni and Simona Susnea (directors of photography). In the
Pack&Pitch Projects section, the project Private Party was selected (producer Carla Fotea), and director Sorin Poamă will also attend the programme
Film Stage Studio Scenes within Talents Sarajevo.
