Divan Film Festival 2016 – Urban Balkan Stories is about to start


     Tomorrow, 20 August, the seventh edition of Divan Film Festival is about to kick off, the only Balkan film festival in Romania.
     For two days, on Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 August, screenings are to be held in (open-air in Centrul Vechi and at Cinema Inspire), after which the event will be carried on in Portul Cultural Cetate until 28 August.
     The programme of Divan Film Festival, whose theme this year is “Balkan Urban Stories”, is made up of 10 feature-length films26 de Balkan shorts and 3 medium-length films.
     „A part of them illustrate this year's theme, especially the feature-lengths, this being the reason we will also present older films, but novel to the Romanian audience, while the shorts are selected on the novelty and value criteria”, Marian Țuțui, the Festival's artistic director, stated.
     Among the Festival's guests, mention should be made of: Adina Dulcu, present in the programme of Divan FF with the short Network Unavailable, Agron Domi, director of Tirana Film Festival, Lidja Mokovska (Mother), Ivan Bakač (Our Skin Is Going to Gray), Neritan Zinxhiria (Camomile), Olimpia Melinte (București Non-Stop/Bucharest Non-Stop), Raluca Răcean Gorgos (4 ½ Senses), Ștefan Zaharia (Officer), Tudor Botezatu (The Consecration).
     The 5C Project, developed for young European film critics, will also reach Divan Film Festival. The five critics who are part of this project will take part to workshops, Q & A-s, screenings, and to the Balkan Film International Symposium.
