Lady Bird marks the directorial debut of
Greta Gerwig, one of the most beloved personalities of the independent film world. At the same time, Greta is the youngest female director ever to receive a Golden Globe and the fifth woman nominated for this category. Another Golden Globe went to the actress Saoirse Ronan who plays Christin “Lady Bird” McPherson, a high school graduate applying for college, who is at war with her family and

with the world.
The action takes place in Sacramento, California, in 2002, against the background of the precarious American economy and the film comes with a tender look upon the relationships that shape us, the convictions that define us and upon the beauty of that place we all call
home. The film brings in front of the viewers one of the richest mother-daughter relationships on the big screen, combining classical elements of the teenage-comedy with new and mature shades. The cast list also includes Timothée Chalamet, known for his part in
Call Me by Your Name, for which he received nominations for the Oscars, the Golden Globes and the Bafta Awards.
