TIFF Sibiu anniversary edition gathered over 15,000 people

The 10th edition of the Transilvania Sibiu International Film Festival was wrapped up on Sunday evening, 26 June, Piața Mare being packed with viewers at the screening of Nelly's Adventures.
The Romanian-German co-production shot in Sibiu area follows the adventures of a young German teenager girl who is spending her summer holiday in Romania, together with her parents. The feature was shot with a good part of the crew in attendance, among which the two leading actors, Flora Li Thiemann și Hagi Lăcătuș. They were joined by director Dominik Weselly, by German producer Arek Gielnik, by Romanian producer Bogdan Crăciun, by the screenwriter Uta Kolan and actor Hannes Hochsmann.
“We chose to shoot the film in Romania because the story was born here, being related to the experience of the two screenwriters who came to Romania in the '80s and wanted to tell the story of the places they got to know. We all fell in love with this country and are very happy we got to make the film here. It is wonderful to be here tonight, it is a very special evening for me and I hope with all my heart that the audience liked the film,” director Dominik Weselly stated.
Over 15,000 viewers took part to 50 screenings, 4 special events and met up with more than 25 guests at the tenth edition of TIFF Sibiu.
The Festival opened with the screening of the film Câini/Dogs, directed by Bogdan Mirică, continuing with a series of recent Romanian features. Furthermore, within this anniversary edition, homage was paid to actress Tamara Buciuceanu-Botez, who received from the TIFF Chariman, Tudor Giurgiu, the Excellence Award for Entire Artistic Career.
