Agassi / The Handmaiden, inspired by the novel Fingersmith by British writer Sarah Waters, in the Korea of the '30s, during the Japanese occupation. A new girl, Sookee, is hired by

heiress Hideko, who lives a secluded life on an extended property in a rural area, with her domineering uncle, Kouzuki. However, the girl has a secret: she is a pickpocket recruited by a charlatan personifying a Japanese count so as to be able to seduce the heiress. The plan works out until Sookee and Hideko discover they have unexpected feelings for each other.
