Radu Jude’s film won three other awards for the following categories: Best Production Design (
Cristian Niculescu), Best Costumes (
Dana Păpăruz) and Best Make-up and Hairstyling (Bianca Boeroiu and Domnica Bodogan), award powered by MAC Cosmetics România.
Doar o răsuflare / A Mere Breath (directed
Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan) won the award for Best Documentary while the trophy for Best Short Film was awarded to
4:15 PM Sfârșitul lumii (directed Cătălin Rotaru, Carmen Virginia Șarga).
The Young Emerging Filmmaker Award was won by the producer of the film
Ilegitim / Ilegitimate,
Anamaria Antoci.
The Romanian industry professionals and film critics’ votes went to
Son of Saul / Saul Fia, distributed in Romania by Transilvania Film and awarded for Best European Film.
The Audience Award for the Highest-Grossing 2016 Film (box-office grosses) was granted to
#Selfie 69 (directed by
Cristina Iacob) and
Două lozuri (directed by
Paul Negoescu).
