“A Tree in the Middle of the World, Constantin Brâncuși”, at ICR Vienna Cinematheque

     The Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna is to present on Tuesday, 23 August, from 19:00, at its headquarters at 39 Argentinierstrasse, the film Un arbore la mijloc de lumi, Constantin Brâncuși/ A Tree in the Middle of the World, Constantin Brâncuși (2009), directed by Horia Muntenus.

     The event is part of the series of manifestations set up monthly by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna, throughout 2016, within the context of the anniversary of 140 since the birth of Constantin Brâncuşi.
     “The film emphasises Brâncuși's symbolism and the traditional sculptural sources comprised by its testamentary-artistic work of art, the sculptural-monumental ensemble in Târgu Jiu – “The Heroes' Way“ -  dedicated to the fallen heroes of the WWI. Constantin Brâncuși was a Homo Universalis. Romanian and French citizen, launched internationally by the US cultural and financial elite, having disciples all over the world, Constantin Brâncuși belongs not only to Romania or France, but to the entire human culture,” director Horia Muntenus stated.
     The film will be presented in Romanian with English subtitles.
