The Documentary “Romanian Wooden Churches”, at ICR Vienna Cinematheque


     The Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Vienna, in partnership with the Romanian Office for Tourism Promotion and Information and with the Romanian Embassy in Austria, will screen, on 23 June, from 18.00, at the ICR Vienna headquarters, the documentary feature Romanian Wooden Churches (directed by Kiki Vasilescu, 2016).
     Romanian Wooden Churches is a special incursion into a territory of our country with natural landscape, and especially abounding with monuments typical to Romania: the wooden churches built in the 17th-18th centuries.
     In the opening of the event, Simion Giurcă, director of the Romanian Office for Tourism Promotion and Information, will give a speech on Romania as a tourist destination.
     Romanian Wooden Churches was nominated in April of this year to the South East European Film Festival Los Angeles for best documentary and best cinematography for documentary film. 
     The film has English subtitling.
