Projects and debates at Bucharest Art Film Festival 2016


     Bucharest Art Film Festival (BAFF), the Festival celebrating art, announces 4 days of screenings, debates and an exhibition dedicated to the connoisseurs, lovers and devotees of the cinema artistic phenomenon, between 8 – 11 September, at the Romanian Farmers' Museum and at the Romanian Cultural Institute.
     BAFF is to inaugurate its first Edition on Thursday, 8 September, through its opening gala at the Romanian Cultural Institute, from 19:00, which is to be carried on during the next days at the Romanian Farmers' Cinema - Horia Bernea Hall, with screenings dedicated to Constantin Brâncuși, of films in premiere in Romania, but also debates gathering important names from the creative, artistic and research industries.  The full programme may be consulted here.
     On Friday, from 16:00, the debate are „Art Publicity: Culture Campaigns and Endorsements” or „Cultured People in Art Publicity” will be held, reuniting professionals from advertising agencies and from other places. Sorin Psatta (Grafitti BBDO), Bogdan Naumovici (23 Communication Ideas), Lucian Georgescu (GAV), Roxana Memetea (DDB / The Group),  Robert Tiederle (Papaya Advertising) and Mirela Matyas (Blue Masters Marketing) are those who will come to talk about the implications of involving cultural personalities in advertising campaigns.
     Saturday will open with the seminar „The Arta of Loving our Heritage”. The guests are Roxana Rădvan, coordinator of the CERTO Excellency Centre for Restoration through Optoelectronics Techniques, Iulian Olteanu, restorer and stone expert, Pavel Șușară, historian and art critic and Sorana Georgescu Gorjan, researcher and Brâncuși expert, and they are all to talk about the heritage conservation, restoration and re-vitalising.
     The Conference „Brâncuși for Beginners”, where the art critic Pavel Șușară is to deliver, helped by the participants, an introductory lesson on our national artist's life and work, is scheduled on Sunday, from 16.00.
     Moreover, within the Festival, artist Alina Gurguță will be present with a costume exhibition inspired by the works of Brâncuși. „Endless Dress” originates in „Endless Column”, „Endless Dress” being the result of numerous attempts to transpose characteristic elements of the sculptor's work into the conventional costume.
