The program was initiated by the Czech Documentary Film Institute, together with partners from other four Central and East-European countries (Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Romania). Together with domestic partners, in 2015, 219 screenings were set up, in 25 locations of 18 cities in Romania.
In 2016, other two countries (Poland and Norway) joined the project, and One World Romania carries on the program with 15 films from the participant countries, of which two are Romanian:
Toto și surorile lui/Toto and his Sisters (directed by
Alexander Nanău) and
Roboțelul de aur/ Golden Robot (directed by Mihai Dragolea, Radu Mocanu).
With filmmakers, actors and experts in attendance, each screening will invite the audience to free talks, in a casual atmosphere, on current topics. Admission to all screenings is free of charge.
