
The director is to meet the Romanian viewers at the premiere of his latest feature,
Personal Shopper, winner of Directing Award (ex aequo) at Cannes, on Thursday, 20 October, from 20.45, at the Auditorium Hall of the National Arts Museum of Romania (MNAR), and will deliver a
masterclass with free-of-charge admission at „I.L. Caragiale” Theatre and Film University on 21 October, from 11.00.
Within a
Focus Olivier Assayas, three of his most acclaimed features will be screened:
L’Eau froide/Cold Water (1994), the high-tech thriller
Demonlover (2002), and
L’Heure d’été/Summer Hours (2008).
And the surprises of Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest for cinema lovers continue. Two films by Jim Jarmusch may be seen this year in premiere in Bucharest, both from the Cannes

Gimme Danger, which will officially close the festival, on 23 October.
Gimme Danger remakes The Stooges epopee, one of the all-time greatest rock bands, where Iggy Pop made its debut and that lay the foundation for today's punk and alternative rock. In
Paterson, Adam Driver plays the part of a driver from Paterson, New Jersey, who leads a simple, routine life, but who notices and transforms the poetry from the small things and gestures around him.

30 premieres of the festival will be dedicated to an important cause: all collections from the screening of the Palme d’Or winner,
I, Daniel Blake, held on Saturday, 15 October, 21.15, at CinemaPRO, will be donated to the campaign
Hearing is a gift! Don't ignore it! The tickets are already on sale on

The campaign is an initiative of the Romanian National Television Station and Radio România, in partnership with the Association of Romanian Audiologists and with the Paediatric Otorhinolaryngologie Romanian Society, aiming at equipping Romanian maternity hospitals with hearing screening gear.
