Managing Talents is addressed to actors, casting directors, distributors, producers, students with specialty faculties, journalists and film lovers. The conference intends to contribute to training a generation of professionals able to adapt easily to international work pace and practices, to inform young actors and directors about
talent management, to set up for them meetings and potential cooperation with foreign representatives.
The guests of the conference are Ilene Feldman (talent manager, LBI Entertainment, USA), Avy Kaufman (casting director, USA), Richard Cook (Lisa Richard Agency, Ireland), Georg Georgi (Das Imperium, Germany).
Ilene Feldman (LBI Entertainment) is one of the most well-known and influential agents in the United States, managing names such as Ryan Gosling, Colin Farrell, Terrence Malick, Yorgos Lanthimos, Jude Law, Lily Collins, Dave Matthews or Amat Escalante. In the past, she represented Angelina Jolie, Brian Cox or Chris Isaak, and at the beginning of her career, in the '80s, she signed up actors unknown at the time, such as Nicholas Cage or Johnny Depp. She had her own agency for 19 years.
Casting Director with 30 years of work in the industry, Avy Kaufman worked with famous directors such as Ang Lee, Robert Redford, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Wong Kar-wai and
Lars von Trier. In 2005, she was awarded the Hollywood Casting Director of the Year Trophy at the Hollywood Film Festival, and in 2008, she won the Emmy Award for the pilot episode of the series
Damages.
Richard Cook is one of the founders of the Irish agency The Lisa Richards Agency, set up in 1989 as theatre representation agency and becoming in the meantime one of the most important in Europe. Over 27 years, the agency expanded to London and is representing actors, comedians, screenwriters, directors, designers, composers, presenters. Its portfolio boasts actors such as Cillian Murphy, Aidan Turner and Pierce Brosnan, but also
Vlad Ivanov. Richard Cook is also the artistic director of Subtitle Film Fest, and the founder of Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland, one of the most significant comedy festivals.
Georg Georgi comes from Berlin and is the founder of Das Imperium, an agency representing numerous European actors, among them being also
Cosmina Stratan. He is also the founder of Tryangle Inspiration Pictures GmbH, a production house with
transmedia & branded entertainment content for features and series.
Admission to the event will be made by a RON 50 ticket. The tickets will be put up for sale on the site site www.eventbook.ro and at the box office of Cinema Elvire Popesco, starting on 8 September.
The students of specialty faculties, actors, directors and casting directors will be granted free admission, within the limit of available seats, by applying until 14 October, and filling up the registration form available at
