On Monday, March 19, 2018 on the stage of the Odeon Theatre, Radio România Cultural will give the awards for the outstanding cultural events of 2017.
The jury announced the nominations for the eight award categories which will be given during the 18th edition of the Radio România Cultural Awards Gala.

The nominations for the FILM category are:

The nominations for the LITERATURE category are: Bogdan-Alexandru Stănescu for the novel “Copilăria lui Kaspar Hauser“ (Polirom Publighing House), Dan Coman for the poetry book “Insectarul Coman“, (Charmides Publishing House), Florin Chirculescu for the book “Greva păcătoșilor“ (Nemira Publishing House) and Ioana Nicolaie for the book “Pelinul negru“, (Humanitas Publishing House).
The THEATRE nominations category includes people that changed the face of the Romanian theatre world, in the past 10 years, with a special focus on their performance in 2017: Miki Braniște for his tenacity in supporting the creations of the young Romanian independent artists by means of the projects of the Colectiv A Association and of the 10 editions of the Temps d’Images Festival in Cluj, Lucian Vărșăndan for the excellency of the visionary management and of the artistic strategic coherence of the Timișoara German State Theatre and Bogdan Sărătean for the consistency in developing the “25 hours of non-stop theatre” Festival and of the BIS Theatre in Sibiu.
The nominations for the VISUAL ARTS category are: Marian Zidaru for the “ePOCALIPS@” exhibition, opened at the Art Museum and in other two spaces in Craiova in 2017, Gheorghe Rasovszky for the retrospective “aNORMAL” exhibition, opened at MNAC in November 2017 and Irina Botea Bucan for the exhibition called “Everything started with a hesitation of the doorman”, opened at MNAC, in January 2017.
The nominations for the SCIENCE category are: the team of the Science&Technology magazine for “The great American expedition”, the most

important expedition in the 70 years history of the Science&Technology magazine, Doru Mugur Paul, assistant professor at the School of Medicine in Hofstra, Long Island, MD at the Monter Cancer Center in Long Island for having organized the first “STOP Cancer” Symposium of Translational Personalized Oncology in Bucharest and Marius Robu, PhD in Paleontology at the Emil Racoviță Institute of Speleology, for the first scanning of the cave bear bioglyphs in the world.
The nominations for the EDUCATION category are: UNICEF for the multimedia exhibition entitled “(You`ll Understand Only) FROM WITHIN”, organized in connection with the World Children`s Day, Alina Dumitrașcu for the book “Ce este Constituția? Joacă-te și vei afla” (Curtea Veche Publishing House) and the PLUTO Astronomical Association for the Museum of illusions, a national itinerant exhibition created between magic, science and education.
The nominations for the MUSIC category are: Adela Zaharia for her exceptional voice and for her achievements, the pianist Dana Ciocârlie for releasing the complete solo piano works composed by Robert Schumann and the composer and poet Adrian Berinde for the album ARCAN released together with the poetry book “Dumnezeu râde singur”.
A new category this year is CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. And the nominations are: Melania Medealeanu and Vlad Voiculescu for MAGICHome, a house for the parents of the children ill with cancer, the Alternative Education Club in Ferentari for the effort of redefining the city beyond the tension between center and the outskirts and the Medical Caravan for the medical and educational campaigns that took place in isolated communities.
