Mircea Diaconu attends the opening of the Romanian Film Evenings in Iași

The 7th Edition of the Romanian Film Evenings (SFR) in Iași opened last night, 4 May, at Atrium Palas, with actor Mircea Diaconu attending, to whom the Festival is dedicating a retrospective.
The opening of the exhibition AGERPRES Photography Archives also took place last night, at Atrium Palas, to be open until 8 May. The exhibition also captures important moments of actor Mircea Diaconu's life, as well as historical moments from the old Iași.
Among others, Mircea Diaconu talked about the importance of promoting Romanian cinema: „This initiative of the journalism students is absolutely remarkable, because it brings into focus the values representing us. During the Festival, I will do what I have been doing for a long time: listen. We will watch films together, because behind a movie is hard work, life, pain, and a huge emotional load”. The actor also attended the viewing of the feature Asfalt Tangou (Asphalt Tango), which celebrated its 20-year anniversary since the premiere, and he talked subsequently with the audience.
Furthermore, several other exhibitions were launched: „SFR in images (La Gard Galleries, Copou, open until 7 May), IN MEMORIAM Ana Maria Ungureanu – „Summer Cloud” (in the Foyer of the Students' Cultural House, open until 8 May, exhibition with donations) and „Film Art” by Ion Bârlădeanu (Unirii Museum, open until 22 May).
Between 4 - 8 May, SFR will bring to recent Romanian productions, fiction and documentary features, as well as other special events.
