The Romanian Cultural Institute of Vienna will present on Tuesday, 28 June, at 19.00, at its headquarters located at 39 Argentinierstrasse, 1040 Vienna, the mute film Lumière, Matière, Espace/Light, Matter, Space.

Over its 56-minutes duration, the film from the Centre Pompidou of Paris Archives will present images taken between 1923-1939, and focusing on Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși.
Besides his photographic activity, Brâncuși also authored the film
Lumière, Matière, Espace, which offers a view of the artist's studio, portrays individual works of art and documents the creation process of the
Infinity Column, capturing the report between light, space and matter.
During the first part of the film, Brâncuși is shot by Man Ray in his studio, but also during various meetings with artists of that time, such as Marcel Duchamp, Victor Brauner and others. The second and longest part includes images taken by Constantin Brâncuși, where the artist studied, through the film, the relationship between light and his sculptures, the interaction of his works with the art of dancing, capturing various moments with him at work in his studio located at Rue Impasse. The final part contains novel images filmed by the sculptor in Romania, when the
Infinity Column was assembled in Târgu Jiu. The film was reconstructed starting from the photograms that the Modern Art Museum in Paris received as part of the donation made by the sculptor to the French State in 1957.
Admission to the event will be free of charge within the limits of available seats.
