Premiul pentru publicistică 2015 al Asociaţiei Criticilor de film

Interview of the week with Alin Ludu Dumbravă

2016 was a rich year in Romanian film premieres – around 25, if we also count some feature-length documentaries that were released on the big screen. It was also the comeback year of the famous Cristi Puiu with Sieranevada and Cristian Mungiu with Graduation (Bacalaureat). Other top director – like Radu Jude - Scarred Hearts (Inimi cicatrizate), Adrian Sitaru - Illegitimate (Ilegitim) or  Marian Crișan -  Orizont - didn’t keep us waiting either. A newcomer, Bogdan Mirică, came in the public eye with his first attempt– Dogs (Câini). The genre film (the thriller and especially the comedy) came back  to the repertory, to the joy of the audience and of the film distributors; the box office champions are Paul Negoescu`s Two Lottery Tickets (Două lozuri) and  Cristinei Iacob `s #Selfie 69.
The conclusion of my interlocutor, the film critic Alin Ludu Dumbravă, is certain: it is the best film year of the past 26 years!
