
Delegated producer Irina-Andreea Malcea will present the cinema project
La Civil / Two Blades, a Belgium –Mexico – Romania co-production, directed by
Teodora Ana Mihai. The project was selected at the Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum, dedicated to stimulating cooperation between industry professionals from the two continents.
The Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid is sponsoring the travelling expenses of actresses Iulia Lumânare and Iulia Ciochină, of director Roxana Stroe and of producer Irina-Andreea Malcea in order to represent our films in the various sections.

Iulia Lumânare are the protagonists of the feature
The Hunt, directed by Alexandra Bălteanu and selected in the competitive section “Nuev@s director@sˮ, showcasing young directors at their first or second feature film. The feature follows the story of three women who decide to make a stand as regards their condition.
Director
Roxana Stroe will take part, with her short
A Night in Tokoriki, starring Iulia Ciochină,
Cristian Bota and Cristian Priboi, to the Film Students International Meetings within the

Festival. The short is among other 14 works by young directors competing for the two prizes of the section Panavision Award and Orona Award.
Sieranevada, the film directed by
Cristi Puiu, will be presented, together with other 15 productions, in the „Pearls” section of San Sebastian Festival. The section includes a select list of the most awarded and acclaimed feature films made this year, among which there is also
Toni Erdman (directed by Maren Ade), the
film coproduced by
Ada Solomon through Hi Film Productions.
Supporting film crews' attendance to high calibre international festivals in Spain is part of the strategy of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid, so that Romanian films get better exposure to Spanish audience and distributors. San Sebastian Festival is inaugurated only one day after the Institute cooperated to the setting up of
“Ventana del Cine Madrileñoˮ, an ample event dedicated to Romanian producers interested in making co-productions with Spain and Mexico.
