Romanian short films at BIEFF 2016


     The International Experimental Film Festival Bucharest 2016 opened it 6th Edition on Monday night at CinemaPRO, with a preview screening of the full-length feature Francofonia, directed by Aleksandr Sokurov.
     The film is to be screened again on Thursday, March 17th, from 8:00 pm, at the Romanian Farmer's Museum Cinema.
     The premieres' series will be carried on, on Wednesday, with the new full-length feature by Lithuanian director Sharunas Bartas, Peace to Us in Our Dreams (premiered at Cannes 2015), on March 16th, at 7:30 pm, at Elvire Popesco Cinema.
     A section dedicated to Romanian experimental film is scheduled on Sunday, March 20th, 5:00 pm, at the Romanian Farmer's Museum Cinema. As part of this program, six Romanian short features will be screened: No Shelter from the Storm (directed by Anca Benera and Arnold Estefan), București. O lume de Ion Bârlădeanu și Carmen Lidia Vidu (Bucharest. A World of Ion Bârlădeanu and Carmen Lidia Vidu) (directed by Carmen Lidia Vidu), Istoria Artei retrasata prin pătratul Negru (Revolutionary Gear: A History of Art Retold through the Black Square) (directed by Veda Popovici), La oglindă (At the Mirror) (directed by Larisa Crunțeanu), Exercising Failure (directed by Dragoș Alexandrescu) and Cobalt Blue (directed by Diana Miron).
