
A Festival's novelty is the children section, that is to present a retrospective
Elisabeta Bostan. The programme's selection includes the following features:
Zâmbet de soare / Sunny Smile,
Campioana / The Champion,
Veronica se întoarce / Veronica Returns,
Tinereţe fără bătrâneţe / Eternal Youth and
Saltimbancii / Circus Actors. The screenings will be followed by talks with Elisabeta Bostan, and at the end of the screening of
The Champion, Izabela Moldovan Bostan will be also present, the actress playing the leading role in the film.
On Wednesday, 10 May, at 16.00, at MERU, the opening of the exhibition “Divina tragedie” / Divine Tragedy will take place, attended by Ion Bârlădeanu, an artist known from the documentary by
Alexander Nanau,

AGERPRES photography archive will be available for viewing over the entire duration of the festival, Alexandru Giboi (director AGERPRES) being present at the opening on 10

May, at 18.00, in the Foyer of the Athenaeum in Iași. The selection includes pictures of Romanian actors and directors taken from the shootings of such cinema productions as
Steaua fără nume / The Nameless Star (directed by Henri Colpi and Jasmine Chasney),
Mihai Viteazul (directed by
Sergiu Nicolaescu) and
Pintea (directed by
Mircea Moldovan)
The film
Un bulgăre de humă / A Clod of Clay (directed by
Nicolae Mărgineanu) will have a special screening on the occasion of the 80-year birthday of actor
Dorel Vișan, on Friday, 12 May, at 20.00, at Bojdeuca lui Ion Creangă (Ion Creangă's Cottage) of Țicău. Actors Dorel Vișan and Dionisie Vitcu will be in attendance, together with the film's director and with screenwriter
Mircea Radu Iacoban. At the Mitropolitan Museum, on Sunday, 14 May, from 19.00, Dorel Vișan will recite poems from his volume “Psalms”, accompanied by Ionuț Bogdan Ștefănescu, first-flute player of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic of Bucharest.
The book “Reconstructions with
Ileana Popovici” (Adenium, Iași, 2017) is to be launched on Saturday, 13 May, at 15.30, in the Foyer of the Athenaeum in Iași, with actress and volume's author, Radmila Popovici, attending. The film
Pentru patrie / For the Mother Country will be screened to carry on the event, at 13.00, in the Big Performance Hall „Radu Beligan” of the Athenaeum.
Former political convict during 1959 – 1964, Radu Bercea has made, starting in 2002, a cycle of painting and graphics works illustrating moments spent in the detention camp. The graphics exhibition “Radu Bercea – Memory of Romanian Gulag Retina” is available for viewing during the Festival at the FIX Theatre.
