Cinepolitica debate on terror and migration in Europe

Two of the most burning topics of the moment, terrorism and migration in Europe, will be debated within the only political film festival in Romania, Cinepolitica International Film Festival (13 – 17 April).
On Saturday, 16 April, after the screening of the feature Made in France: Inside the Cell (directed by Nicolas Boukhrief), an interactive debate is to be held on terror and migration in Europe. The following will attend: journalist Liviu Mihaiu, Dumitru Borțun, Philosophy Ph.D. and Lecturer at the Communication and Public Relations Faculty of the National School for Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest (SNSPA), and historian Adrian Niculescu.
A special screening was included in Cinepolitica programme for Sunday, 17 April, starting at 16.00: Supraviețuire sau serviciu public? Mikó Imre și Securitatea (Survival or Public Service? Mikó Imre and the Secret Police) (directed by Domokos János, Hungary/Romania, 2015). In 1944, Mikó Imre was brought to the Soviet camp as war prisoner and there he became an antifascist activist. He was politically and socially rehabilitated only in 1970, when he began working as an editor for the Kriterion Publishing House, being afterwards deemed as a significant figure of the Transylvanian Hungarian community. Why did he work as an informer? Maybe behind his collaboration was not only his own life strategy, but also an intention to exercise some kind of political influence?
The Closing Gala of Cinepolitica International Film Festival will be held on Sunday night, starting at 20.30, when the winners of the competition are to be announced.
