Docuart Caravan reaches Satu Mare (5 – 6 May 2017)


     Docuart Caravan is to reach Satu Mare, on 5 and 6 May 2017, the documentaries' screenings being scheduled at the Amphitheatre Hall of the Syndicates Culture House.

     Documentary film distribution is a challenge given the sparsity of the movie theatres in the country, and thus Docuart Caravan manages to cover this deficiency by its screenings of Romanian documentaries set up in several towns of Romania.
     The films available for viewing in Satu Mare were included in the selection București Docuart Fest 2016Perfection Is Forever (directed by Mara Trifu – 5 May, at 17.30) is an experimental installation documentary, combining reality with fiction, while 10:34 to Belgrade (directed by Ioana Grigore – 5 May, at 17.30) brings into focus the way Serbia's capital city inhabitants see today the bombardment of 1999. Next, from 18.45, the short Angela (directed by Botond Pusok) will be screened, and from 19.00, followed by the feature documentaries 100 de movile / 100 Risings  (directed by Max T. Ciorbă) and Un film mai puțin vesel, mai mult trist, poetic și sfătos / A Film Less Joyful, More Sad, Poetic and Wise, directed by Cornel Mihalache, who will talk to the audience at the end of the screening.
     On Saturday, the programme will start at 17.00, with Farid Fairuz versus Mihai Mahalcea (directed by Alex Pintică), a documentary on the author who cannot be told apart from the artist, and Stories in Tea Cups (directed by Mirona Radu), presenting the daily life of Chinese people and the importance of the tea ritual in their culture. Doar o răsuflare / A Mere Breath  (directed by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan), one of the most awarded Romanian documentaries of the last year, follows the change of the relations between the members of a family from Copșa Mică, one of the most polluted towns in Europe.
     The first documentary film made by Cosmin Bumbuț and Elena Stancu, Ultimul căldărar / The Last Cauldron Maker, about Geo, a young cauldron maker from the village of Corcova, will be screened at 19:00, being followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers. The last screening on Saturday, at 20:30, is to present Rodion Roșca, the founder of Romanian electronic music, and the protagonist of the film Imagini din vis / Dream Images (directed by Sorin Luca), winner of the Docuart Fest 2016 Grand Trophy. After the screening, Rodion will be present in the movie theatre hall to talk with the viewers.
     The next cities to be visited are Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Gherla and Bucharest.
     Admission will be free of charge.
