The new edition of the FILM magazine was issued; it dedicates large materials reviewing last year – “Remember 2017”. Nine critics answered the invitation to evaluate the recent Romanian film production and the state of our industry, a bit before announcing the most important annual awards, UCIN and GOPO. Even if the international awards didn`t miss, they didn`t equal the prestigious trophies of 2016. And still, there is no reason for speaking in a
pessimist voice about 2017, because we witnessed notable debuts and innovation in the fields of documentary and animation.
The interviews of the edition, in the Focus column, are with two up and coming young actresses:
Olimpia Melinte and
Diana Cavallioti.
Angelo Mitchievici`s essay “Priests and priesthood in the Romanian film after 1989” intensifies the interest shown to the column “Critical references”. This number also includes reports about international and national festivals: the Berlinale, the festivals of Cairo, Rotterdam, Pordenone, CineMAiubit and the Nordic Film Festival.
