Marius Olteanu`s feature directorial debut, will have the world premiere in the Forum section of the Berlin Film Festival, which takes place from February 7 to 17, 2019.

The film tells the story of the last day in the life as a couple of two young people. The family, society, friends seem to love them when they are together, but reject them when they are on their own. Because of their needs, convictions and life options.
What is the biggest proof of love you can give the other one? The film observes and asks questions in a puzzle structure in which the viewer must stay focused and decide in the end who “the monsters” are.

Monsters., I made many interviews with married people, asking them about love and about what changes in time and how, about what causes the death of love, about the need to be with somebody, instead

of being alone and about the compromises we make for it, about our attempt to meet the standards that are forced upon us at any level, in every stage. These interviews brought me closer to my characters. Dana and Arhur are two free-spirited people who do their best, despite themselves, to be the way they should, for the other one and for the rest of the people”, the director Marius Olteanu says.

Luchian Ciobanu, the art direction by
Alexandra Alma Ungureanu Stroe, the editing by

Dan Ștefan Rucăreanu.
Monsters. is a Parada Film and Wearebasca production. The producers are
Claudiu Mitcu, Ioachim Stroe, Robert Fița, and co-producer – Marius Olteanu.
The film is a production made with the support of the Romanian Film Center (CNC), in collaboration with the Romanian Television Society.
Monsters. will be distributed by Transilvania Film in the autumn of 2019.
