“California Dreamin’”, “Francesca” and “Domestic” in the “Revolution in Realism” Programme

The programme developed under the title: “Revolution in Realism. New Romanian Cinema”, hosted in June by the famous cinema centre on the Thames bank, the British Film Institute, will end in July with three additional screenings at ICR London, within a special section of the Romanian Cinematheque. Thus, on 7, 11 and 14 July, the following features will be screened: California Dreamin’ (directed by Cristian Nemescu), Francesca (directed by Bobby Păunescu) and Domestic (directed by Adrian Sitaru).
Director and producer Bobby Păunescu will meet up with the London viewers on Monday, 11 July, after the screening of his debut film, Francesca.
The largest Romanian film programmed ever developed in UK, a result of the partnership between the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) of London and the British Film Institute, included over 70 screenings and special events: meetings and talks with important Romanian filmmakers, an exhibition and receptions. This project was mentioned in the UK press, among others by The Independent, Financial Times, Sight & Sound or BBC Radio 4, and was recommended by most of the British film critics.
