„Romanian History Film Days” at ICR London


   From November 22 to 24, 2018, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in London hosts for the first time the Romanian Film Days event, a project that is organized in partnership with the Histories and Film Festival in Râşnov and the Embassy of Romania in London. The event includes film screenings, debates and special guests and it intends to present to the British audiences some recent Romanian film productions, with history-documentary themes.The films included in the program are: 
Apostolle Bologa / Apostolul Bologa, presented as international premiere, the documentary Free DAcians / Dacii liberi – presented as the British premiere, a selection of three recent short films and the feature film Ecaterina Teodoroiu. The screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the directors Dominic Dembinski and Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan, the producer Claudia Duca and Sorin Mîndruțescu, one of the coordinators of the Histories and Film Festival in Râşnov.
The international premiere screening of the film Apostle Bologa will take place on Thursday, November 22, in the presence of the director Dominic Dembinski and of the producer Claudia Duca.  
The screening of the documentary Free Dacians is scheduled for Friday, November 23, in the presence of the film director Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan. The film brings together the inhabitants of a Dacian village, a historian and an archeologist. They are all connected by their common passion for the Dacians. They are divided though by the different vision each of them has on a certain historic event which every year becomes more and more popular in Romania.
The evening of November 24, 2018, will be dedicated to a short films programme selected by the producer Claudia Duca: The Christmas Gift directed by lui Bogdan MureșanuAbout Life – King Michael of Romania / Regele Mihai al României – despre viaţă directed by John Florescu and Timeless Love, directed by Ştefan Marin and Rareş Neagu. The short films will be followed by the screening of the history film Ecaterina Teodoroiu (directed by Dinu Cocea).
The “Romanian History Film Days” event is organized by ICR London in partnership with the History and Film Festival in Râşnov, the Embassy of Romania in London, the Romanian National Television and the Romanian Film Center (CNC)/ the National Film Archive.
