From March 3 to 9, 2018, the directors Adina Popescu and Iulian Manuel Ghervas will take part in the third stage of the “Ex Oriente” workshop in Prague, with their project,
Eagles from Țaga/ Vulturii din Țaga.

Organized by the Institute of Documentary Film (in the East Doc Platfom), Ex Oriente is one of the most prestigious workshops that focuses on the documentary production; the participants will benefit from the support of some of the best experts in the field, having thus the possibility to develop their project starting from topic, narrative, cinematography, up to the financial and distribution strategy. The training sessions end with a competition during the East European Film Forum, which is attended by top independent producers and distributors from Europe and North America.
Eagles from Țaga tells the story of a football team. The head of the local police, the pub owner, the postman, a few high school students and other villagers play football in the same team, called the
Țaga Eagle. The
Țaga Eagle is officially considered the weakest football team in Romania. It performs in the 5th league, the last league in the Romanian Championships and their coach, Nelu Tarnovan, is a former professional football player, who failed his career. Now he is totally involved in the local team and this gives him a sense of living.
The presence of the directors Adina Popescu and Iulian Manuel Ghervas at the Ex Oriente workshops in Jihlava(2017) and Prague(2018) was supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute from Prague.
