The fourth edition of the Bucharest Art Film Festival took place this week end, from November 22 to 24, 2019, at Spațiu Docuart (Cal. Giulești, nr. 14, ISAF building, 4th floor) and Mogoșoaia Palace - Sala Scoarțelor. The theme of this edition was “Hibryd” - the program includes documentaries about art and an exhibition made in partnership with Năsui Collection & Gallery.

In the opening of BAFF the film
Stuffed (directed by Erin Derham, 2019, 85 min.) was screened.
Stuffed is a feature-length documentary about the world of taxidermy and it explores this diverse cultural area, where the sculptors must be also people of science, they see life where other people see only death.
“What we were interested in was introducing the viewer in the general problematic of contemporary art by means of a series of questions which result directly from the thematic of the films: How important are the collectors in the setting of the tendencies and of the big names in contemporary art? How and which is the level of involvement of the audience when it comes to the visual installations?” Ana Negoiță, artistic director of the festival.
Other films in the BAFF program were:
Walking on Water (directed by Andrey M Paounov, 2019, 100 min.) and
The Chinese lives of Uli Sigg (directed by Michael Schindhelm, 2016, 93 min.).
Bucharest Art Film Festival (BAFF) is a film festival of the fine arts, dedicated to presenting the best films from the entire world about art, photography, collectors and artists from all media, from inside, but also outside the studios, galleries, museums, public art institutions or alternative spaces.
