Learn by Heart follows the story of Adama, a 14 years old teenager who comes from a family of immigrants. He lives with his mother in a small 1-bedroom flat in the Parisian suburbs. Adama does not do very well in school, though he has great potential. Together with Mamadou, a kid smaller than him, Adama tries to turn his life around. The all-consuming poverty in the Parisian ghetto makes the two boys strive for something else, regardless the risks.
The pupils and teachers who are part of the project are going to talk, after the screening, about social inequality and cultural differences in today France, and about the multi-cultural political model. Furthermore, the attendants will be challenged to reflect on the characters' confrontations and to understand the various views on drug trafficking and

addiction.
The main target of this cinema lesson is to raise youth awareness as regards cinema cultural diversity, and to increase young people's interest for film. In class, teachers will explain to them that, besides the overwhelming Hollywood movies screened in our theatres, each country has representative productions for their culture and history.
