Jim Jarmusch`s latest film,
The Dead Don`t Die, that was presented in the official competition of the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, opens the 16th edition of the ANONIMUL Inteernational Independent Film festival, which will take place from August 5 to 11, in Sfântu Gheorghe, Danube Delta.

This is the 13th film of the director Jim Jarmusch, an important representative of the American independent film, winner of five Cannes awards during his career. It is a comedy with zombies that features exceptional actors: Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloe Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Rosie Perez, Selena Gomez, RZA and also two musicians who are very familiar with Jarmusch`s universe - Tom Waits and Iggy Pop.
“I suppose it`s a furious film. I`ve never thought that before, but I believe it is. i`m tired of films with zombies. I mean, the true zombies walk among us, without caring about anything, letting the end of the world happen. There is a line in
Only Lovers Left Alive, when the couple talk about the people that turn into zombies – because they are not aware of what happens around them.

And now look at how unaware of the imminent end the world is. It`s sad and exasperating. And I`m fucking tired of that.” Jim Jarmusch said.
The Romanian premiere of
The Dead Don't Die will happen at ANONIMUL, thanks to Ro Image 2000.

Grouped in the program called Fluidities, the Studio Video Art presents four art documentaries about art, which approach themes such as fine arts, music, cultural traditions and art crafts:

Laurențiu Damian, 2017),
Party Music / Muzică de petrecere (directed by
Andrei Teodorescu, 2017),

Francis Mraz, 2014) and
Clay Watching / Cu ochii-n lut (directed by Hadrian Gavriluțiu, 2015). The screenings will be followed by Q&As with the film authors.
“The art film is not a niche film, it`s like a chamber music concert considered a niche event, compared to a symphony played by a large orchestra. This is what we tried at Studio Video Art, to make films with confessions about artists, about people, about traditions and habits, about religious places or secret places, charged with history, but looked upon…in a different way, so that the image may surprise what a usual viewer cannot notice” Laurențiu Damian says.
The ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival will take place from August 5 to 11, 2019, in Sfântu Gheorghe (Danube Delta). The access to the festival screenings is free.
