Romanian Film Evenings 2016 – documentary features and concerts  


     The Romanian Film Evenings Film Festival, at its seventh edition, is initiating a series of events - musicals and documentary screenings about the life of film reviewer Irina-Margareta Nistor. The events will be hosted by Underground The Pub in Iaşi.
     Thus, Viața între două filme (Life Between Two Movies) is to be screened on Friday, 6 May, 2016, at 23.00, with the leading character, Irina-Margareta Nistor, in attendance. The film follows her over several days. Admission will be free within the limit of available seats.
     On Saturday, 7 May, 2016, at 23.00, SFR invites the viewers from Iași to a special concert– Cineacordeon. During the first part of the concert, Emy Drăgoi will play the accordion, while the first shorts by Charlie Chaplin will be played on screen. During the second part, Emy Drăgoi will be joined by Medeea Marinescu, Bianca Drăgoi, who will play the violin, by Stefano Priori, playing the contrabass, and by the guitar player Robert Cina.
     The documentary feature Balta Albă (directed by Silviu Munteanu) is a project developed by Fundaţia Româneşti pentru Artă şi Informaţie (FRAI) (The Romanian Foundation for Arts and Information), unveiling the stories of artist from the Bucharest neighbourhood of Balta Albă. The feature captures, in chronological order, 30 years of music history, combined with various interviews of Sișu, Adrian Pleșca, Nelu Drumitrescu, Marius Țeicu and others. The screening will be held on Sunday, 8 May, at 20.00. Later on, at midnight, the Partizan band concert is scheduled.  
     Moreover, SFR 2016 will set up screenings of the latest Romanian fiction features and documentaries.
