“Son of Saul” takes home the Grand Prize at MeCEFF “7+1” 2016

     On Saturday, 3 September, the sixth Edition of the Mediaş Central European Film Festival (MECEFF) “7+1” was wrapped up, the only festival for competitive and thematic films dedicated to Central-European countries.

     At the closing ceremony, the jury, made up of  James Ulmer, Irina-Margareta Nistor, Ileana Popovici, Irina-Margareta Nistor, Călin Stănculescu and Mihai Fulger, announced the winners of this Edition. Best Actor went to Janusz Gajos for his role in Body / Cialo, Best Director to Radu Jude (Aferim!), Best Cinematography to Mitja Licen (The Tree / Drevo), and Fiul lui Saul / Son of  Saul / Saul fia was awarded the Grand Prize for Best Film.
     Between 01 and 03 September, the City of Mediaş hosted, in the Town Hall Square, at the Traube Hall and at the Synagogue, the screenings and special events within MECEFF “7+1”.
