The 20th Edition of the
French Film Festival, an event organised by the Embassy of France in Romania and by the French Institute in Romania, is carried out simultaneously in seven cities, between 3 - 13 November, 2016. The Festival will open with the competition dedicated to young French directors, which will give Romanian audience the opportunity to choose their favourite film of the six debut feature films proposed within this section.

The following films are part of the competition:
Le Nouveau (2015, directed by Rudi Rosenberg),
Les deux amis (2015, directed by Louis Garrel),
À peine j’ouvre les yeux (2015, directed by Leyla Bouzid),
Le Grand Jeu (2015, Nicolas Parizer),
Willy 1ᵉʳ (2016, Ludovic Boukherma, Zoran Boukherma, Marielle Gautier and Hugo P. Thomas), and
Ce sentiment de l’été (2016, directed by Mikhaël Hers).
After the viewing, the audience may vote to designate the winner of the “Audience Award TV5MONDE/ RFI România”, both online, at www.jevote.ro, and by filling out the forms available in the theatres. The Best Film of this section will be supported in relation to its distribution in the Romanian cinema network, and several lucky voters will receive gifts.
At this edition, directors Zoran and Ludovic Boukherma will come to Romania pentru to meet film lovers from Timișoara and Bucharest. Graduates of the School “Cité du Cinéma” founded by the famous director Luc Besson, the two filmmakers were discovered at the section ACID (Independent Cinema Association and its Distribution) of the Cannes International Film Festival.
All films will be presented in their original version and have Romanian subtitles.
