Bogdan George Apetri. Her first short film project as a film director,
The Walk / Plimbare (you can watch it again on Cinepub), had the international premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. Afterwards, it was selected in many other festivals, such as FIFF Namur, Bruxelles, Slamdance, Transilvania IFF, Ankara IFF or Making Waves din New York.
Yet to Rule / În pronunțare, Mihaela Popescu`s feature directorial debut,
was selected for the fourth edition of the Woche der Kritik Berlin/Berlin Critics’ Week and had the national premiere on December 7, 2018.
In
Sume, a young couple goes to their country house for their holiday. She paints, he reads the newspaper. She wants to go out for a walk, he wants to stay inside. This desynchronization leads her to an emotional crisis and then she starts seeing him differently. Though it`s a cinematography film, with carefully studied shots, with a special sensitivity, the story bottles a certain dose of anguish – maybe the protagonist doesn`t trust the future father, who is always busy with huge newspapers, with the sound of the notifications on his phone, with e-mails that he doesn`t even bother answering.
